My Valentine's Makeup

Whether you were celebrating Valentine's Day or not, I thought I'd show you a makeup look I wore for valentines, that works for a bit of everything. It's very soft and simple, and if you wanted to make it more dramatic it could easily be adjusted. For my base I used Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow with L'oreal True Match Foundation and for concealer I used the Bobbi Brown corrector in Bisque with Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer on top to brighten up the under eye. For my makeup to last I used Rimmel's Stay Matte to powder, I used Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow to contour and highlight and NARS Orgasm to add a bit of colour to my cheeks. To define and set my brows I used the Soap & Glory Archery in Hot Chocolate and L'oreal Clear Brow Plumper. On the lids I wanted a soft smokey eye, I chose the Urban Decay Naked 3, with Limit in the inner corner and Factory on the outer corner. I lined my eyes with Urban Decay Perversion, then for mascara I used L'oreal Flutter and Clinique Bottom Lash. For the lips I lined my lips with Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat in Pillowtalk, with MAC Patisserie and Tanya Burr Lipgloss in Picnic in the Park on top.
I'm really pleased with how this makeup look turned out, a look I'll definitely recreate again.

Charlotte Tilbury : Filmstar Bronze & Glow

It's designed so you can slim, sculpt, shorten, trim and highlight your features. It's amazing what some shading and highlighting tricks can do to your face. The highlight is the most beautiful highlighter I've used and have seen in a very long time, and it looks stunning on the face. It's so easy to use as it's golden but subtle, just a very natural highlight. The bronze colour is the perfect sculpting shade for many skin tones, which gives a bronzy sun kissed look to the skin. Already this palette is a staple in my collection, Plus the packaging just makes it extra special.

Urban Decay : Eye Pencils

Mugshot // Vacancy // Stargazer // Voodoo // Moonspoon // Perversion // Glitter Rock // Smokeout // Black Velvet // Gonzo // Faint

Urban Decay is known for it's amazing eye pencils, and recently this little liner set came into my makeup collection, which includes 10 creamy, waterproof glide-on eye pencils, including the blackest-than-black shade, Perversion. I've also included Black Velvet which I purchased a while ago but thought I would add it in to share my whole eye pencil collection. My most used shades are Smokeout when I don't want such a harsh eyeliner and with a bit of blending mimics it's name, with a smoked out liner. Voodoo is a bright metallic purple, which I love to use to add a bit of colour to the eyes. Of course, Perversion for the intense black eyeliner. The pencil's are so long-lasting and perfect for any eye look.

The Matte Revolution

This is the newest addition to the Charlotte Tilbury line, and I'm sure if you follow a few beauty blog's you would of already seen the latest addition. These lipsticks are the matte revolution. I'm not normally a fan of matte lipsticks as I find them very drying and they don't look good after a few hours on. Out of all the formula's I've tried for matte lipstick's this one has to be my favourite, as it's a velvet formula. The lipstick itself is soft and creamy and not actually too matte, it has this hint of moisture that makes them so easy to apply and comfortable to wear all day. It's not at all drying and the pigmentation is so good. The shade I have on is 'Love Liberty'. The only downside, the price tag. At £23 each they are quite an expensive lipstick but I would say an investment. Next on my list to buy is Glastonberry, which is a described as "a sheer blackcurrant hue for sex kittens and rock n' rollers."

What's your favourite matte lipstick?

The Face Mask Trio

I received this Origins face mask set a while ago now and I've been using them ever since. The set includes Drink Up Intensive Mask, Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask and Drink Up 10 Minute Mask. The Intensive mask is an overnight mask to quench the skin's thirst. The Clear Improvement is a charcoal mask to clear pores, this is the best mask for clogged pores. The last mask is the 10 Minute mask helps deliver an extra helping of hydration for any dry and tired skin.
Overall a good set of face masks for any skin types. My favourite mask is the Intensive mask, I use it once a week, after use it makes my skin feel smoother and hydrated.

Would you recommend any face masks?

A Make Up Update..

I just wanted to show my make up from the other day. I decided to go for a warm brown smoked out winged eye, with natural lips and an all over bronze on the skin. On the eyes I used MAC's Texture all over the lid and crease, with Brown Down also in the crease and along the top and bottom lash line. I then used Carbon to deepen the crease to make it a little darker. I smudged out Brown Down and Carbon and blended the two colours to create a subtle winged line.  My foundation is NARS Sheer Glow in Santa Fe with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard. For the glow on the skin I used NARS Laguna, which is a natural brown with golden shimmer. On my lips I have Chanel lipgloss in 217 which is a lovely peachy natural gloss.

As payday comes around, it's that time when I'm making a list of what to purchase. This is the beauty edit. It's also that time where many item's in my make up bag are running out. First I'll stock up on my essentials such as foundation and lash primer, but I wanted to try out some new things and these made it onto the edit. A few dark lipsticks ready for autumn, a MAC palette to organise my eyeshadows, an eyeshadow quad and eye pencil from Charlotte Tilbury. Jimmy Choo perfume is one of my all time favourites so I need to re-purchase this, as I'm running low on perfumes.

Lips | Deep Red

This is my favourite lipstick for the colder months as it' the perfect deep red for the lips. In the image below it looks very similar to MAC's Rebel, but in person the colour is a deeper darker red. The lipstick is Rimmel's Kate Moss in 107.

MAC Haul

So this post is a bit overdue as these are not recent purchases anymore but here it is anyway. Here's a few bits from MAC as I recently had a bit of a splurge and bought a few things on my wish list. First was a lipstick in Patisserie which is showing as pink in the image but is actually more of a nude with a slight pink tone and I've probably worn every day since. Next is a mineralize skin finish in Global Glow, it is absolutely stunning. It's a velvet powder with a metallic finish perfect for highlighting and creating that bronzed glowing look. Some essentials include a duo sharpener and brush cleanser.
I've wanted to experiment with colour on my eyes, so as a small step I purchased a eye liner in Prunella which is shimmering black plum, maybe i'll try a blue or a purple next. The last thing is Opulash Optimum Black Mascara, I've wanted to try a new mascara for a while as I was purchasing a few things from MAC, I decided to give one a try. After reading some reviews this one seemed like a good choice, it say's it will last for 15 hours!

Any good recommendations from MAC?

Top 6 Brushes.

These are some of my brushes that I use daily which I thought I would share with you all. The top two brushes are from Real Techniques, the first is a blush brush and the second a powder brush. I actually use the blush brush for bronzer as I don't really wear blush that much and the powder brush I  actually do use for powder. It applies the powder really easily, as it is quite large which is great for powdering all over the face.
The next two brushes are from MAC and are both eye brushes. First is a blending brush which I think everyone on the blogging world has. It is indeed the 217, it's just great for blending as its quite fluffy yet it's tapered which is good for applying shadow on the lid. The 219 is the newest brush in my collection, it's a pencil brush that works well for precision and smudging out eyeshadow along the lash line. Next we have a beauty blender, I actually got this from amazon, and I have been using this daily for my foundation and concealer. It leaves my skin with a flawless finish, and I've had many compliments may I just add. The best way to use a beauty blender is damp, all you have to do is squeeze under the tap a few times. Lastly is the lash-brow groomer by Real Techniques, I use this mainly to separate my lashes after I've applied mascara.

These are my favourite brushes, what are yours?

Favourite Fragrances.

These are my top three perfume picks which I wear all year round, they include YSL Elle, Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb and Ellie Saab. I'll tend to stick to a certain fragrance for a few weeks or so as I become attached to the smell. My current favourite fragrance is Flowerbomb by Viktor&Rolf, it's one of my all time favourite smells. It's described as a floral explosion which it definitely is. I just adore the bottle, the bottle is in this diamond shape which looks beautiful, and looks nice in my room, bonus. Ellie Saab is what I tend to reach for when I'm going out for the evening, as the floral scent is much richer. Elle is my 'casual fragrance' as its very fruity and feminine, still gorgeous, perfect for every day use.
What are your favourite fragrances?

A few new things...

So I found myself in boots again, I was picking up some essentials like shampoo and conditioner, and then I wandered over to the beauty section and picked up a few items...

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velevet Lipstick in 02 - These have had some really good reviews on the internet world and I wanted to try one out for myself. The shade is a pink-toned berry red which I think will be a good choice for the colder months.

Rimmel Brow This Way Styling Gel in Clear - I've been using another brow gel and I wanted to try out a cheaper version. I'm hoping this will do the trick as my eyebrows always need setting as they're so thick.

L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Eyeshadow in 502 - I really don't need another taupe eyeshadow but when I saw this on the counter, I thought it looked gorgeous and I had to pick one up. I've already tried it on, and it's lovely on the lid, a nice taupe metallic shade but with not too much shimmer. It's lasted for a few hours now. So far so good.

Hope you're all having a lovely day!

Lips | Plum

Plumful is a very sheer lipstick, it's perfect for when I want some colour but not too much on my lips. This is one of my most used lipsticks, as I wear it pretty much daily. Well I actually need to purchase a new one as I'm running out fast.

Lips | Nude

For my nude lip combination, I use MAC's lipstick in patisserie and over the top with MAC lipglass in lust. This for me, is my perfect nude, its neutral but with gloss on top adds some shine to the lips. Perfect for those days where you want to wear lipstick but nothing too 'out there'.

Lots of love,

Lips | Berry

I wish I could wear MAC's lipstick in rebel more often as it's so vibrant and fun. This is my go to lipstick when I go out. Sometimes I even wear it in the day by just applying a light layer. Over all lovely plummy-pink.
